We are in the midst of a week of glorious spring weather. The crocuses, daffodils, primroses and hyacinths are out wherever we look and, since I always miss the English spring more than any other season when I'm away, I feel so glad to be granted a short glimpse of this.
With so much to do before we leave in a few days, it's inevitable really that matters on the sleep front would stray off-kilter, though I have to say that rather than this being down to my inability to sleep, my gorgeous girls have been riddled with colds (soon to be banished no doubt once in India) and so have been unsettled at night time. I really do feel that I'm entering a new chapter now, not only by the obvious physical move East, but also with my sleep. The last couple of months, since starting the B6 and magnesium supplements, I've felt pieces of my personal jigsaw slowly being slotted back into their rightful places. I no longer feel like I am an insomniac, simply a poor sleeper like I always have been - and that is absolutely fine!!
Writing this blog over the past 20 occasions has been a hugely liberating and necessary process. I truly believe that writing can and does heal. Perhaps once in India it shall morph into a different blog - 'Notes of an adventuring mother'? / 'Notes of an expat mother'? / 'Notes of a mother in India'? Or how about just 'Notes of a sleeper'??! But perhaps I am jumping the gun. I am aware that just because I am sleeping so much better on the whole, sleep is something I will never again take for granted. I need to keep taking one day at a time and appreciating each and every day I feel alive and energised. I'm going to be incredibly stimulated in India, that much is for certain. And I'm also going to be incredibly hot! Perhaps such a combination will have a soporific effect. Either way, thanks to those of you who have read my words over the past months. Here's a toast to a new chapter and my discovery of the wonderful, cathartic world of blogging.
Good luck for your aspirations to be a writer.Enjoy the Indian rainy season
